St Theodosia of Constantinople- Religious iconography on beach stone black white and grey naive folk - rocks Crete- Pebbe art

Share:

I found a stone on Myrtos ( a beautiful beach on the southeasten shores of Crte) that had exactly thes shape of St Theodosia a monk- saint, a fierce defender of the icons commemorated from the orthodox church on 29 May

I ve added black/grey  mineral powders on glue (the type of glue that we use for fresco paiting creating a very shiny and durable medium) and with very few brush strokes  of red abnd green and the Saint appeared on the  surface of the a beach pebble

The rock on the back bears the inscription: Agia Theodosia - and teh signature of the maker

Additionally all our works are prepared as gifts in their individual gift bag with some little extras from our shop and scents from Crete
