St Cyprian bishop of Carthage- Saint Cyprianus byzantine icon Ante- Nicene fathers christian art

St Cyprian bishop of Carthage, a Saint venerated in eastern and western church. His icon is hand painted in the traditional way , with the Bishop's garments. Antique patina is added making the gold copperish rose  and that is what is making it more impressive. 

His name is written on left and right with red egg tempera -Aghios Kyprianos . On this piece  leaves of copper gold were used with an organic dye applied on top of them in order to give the look of an antique copperish patina.

The icon measures in size approx  13cm x 18cm

Each of our icons is drawn according to the rules of the old byzantine art of hagiography or else holy iconography. In this technique we are using the traditional egg tempera.
