St Catherine of Siena is one of the greatest saints of the catholic Church. She is also one of the four women named  a Doctor of the same Church having exerted a significant influence with the volume of her writings and her life's work.

Size - A sized 14x18 cm specially prepared plywwod board 1.4cm thick- her name is written in Italian S Caterina da Siena

The icon is painted with eggtempera  on a a golden background with a plant dye applied on it , in order to give an antique patina look. The traditional  colors are shielded with organic and resin varnish to produce an icon that -with the proper care-  would last for generations
