A contemporary byzantine representation of a beloved Saint which is the patron for Children in Greece.  Blessed  Saint Stylianos of Paphlagonia-  In his icon he is holding an infant and a a scroll that writes Children's Guardian (Paidon Phylax) in Greek - His intercession is requested for curing children's ailments and also from childless couples. We celebrate his memory on 26th of November and it is a really popular feast in Greece as his name (Stelios, Stella).

Each of our icons is drawn according to the rules of the old byzantine art of hagiography or else holy iconography. In this technique we are using the traditional egg tempera a mixture of egg and vinegar as a medium for the dry pigments. This painting is executed in a special canvas that made a craquelure efffect possible
