Saint Charalambus (or Agios Haralambos as it is pronounced in Greek) is a much revered Saint throughout Greece. The Saint is  considered to be a miracle maker (he was the saint protector from the deadly plague) with many local festivals being held on the day of His feast, February the 10th.

The icon is painted with bright colours and egg tempera on a specially prepared wooden panel measuring 20x26cm. The technique that is being used is the traditional technique of the byzantine iconography
