A  much honored Saint of the Catholic church- St Teresa of Calcutta or known all over the world as Mother Teresa

The size of this artifact can be seen in relation with my hand in the  pics.

The artifact was created with egg tempera  in a piece of driftwood from a beach  of my island (Crete) that was specially treated before gessoed. On  top of the colors  shellac (goma laca) and a final layer of resin varnish was used to permanently seal the colors. The copper gold that was used as a background, will eventually acquire an antique patina that will only add charm to the little ornament
