Medieval painting of the Scorpio zodiac sign- Middle Ages bestiary November Birthday present mythical and legendary creatures

Middle Ages was a fascinating era full of legends- An image of a scorpio captured by a man and another legendary  beast (a griffin?)- I dont know the hidden meaning of the painting but I was intrigued by the lines the movement and the beautiful red background, to create an astrology birthday gift  with the sign of scorpio 

The painting is made with egg tempera in a small yet steady, treated with gesso canvas panel. The backgound is vivid red and the frame (as well as details inside the painting) are made with copper gold. Finally the colors are "sealed" with layers of protective varnishes

It measures approx. 20x20 cm
