Made to Order St Nektarios Custom order byzantine icon painted by hand- Orthodox Saint Nectarios of Aegina

A made to order icon of St Nectarios of Aegina. That would be the starting point, the base for the, hand painted with the traditional egg tempera technique, contemporary byzantine icon of the most venerated and wonderworking orthodox Saint

 

Sizing - Technique

The icon will be painted, with the traditional egg tempera - a mixture of powder pigments egg yolk and vinegar-  on a specially prepared (reinforced with cotton and gesso) birch plywood panel measuring both:

40x11 cm, and 21mm thick

The back ground will be gilded with copper gold - The colors will be sealed with two types of top coats.

 

Delivery schedule- Timing
After the order, it is panel preparation and then the painting phase which will last about two weeks. I send a picture update as soon as the painting is done-  The colours and the top coats (shellac and varnish) will also remain to "rest"

Finally when the painting is totally dry- I pack the icons (prepared always as a gift) and send it first priority registered mail to you!
