Made to Order Hospitality of Abraham, Philoxenia or Holy Trinity icon - 22K Gold vintage Troitsa icon naive art hand-painted egg tempera

The icon of Holy Trinity (Agia Triada) named _Hospitality of Abraham in Greek (Philoxenia tou Abraham) , represented in a folk style, where the three angels -who visited Abraham at the Oak of Mamre- are symbolising the Holy Trinity: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

The two images we see (the drawing and the finished piece) will be the base for the hand painted with the traditional egg tempera technique byzantine icon. The final piece will be similar but it can never be identical- After all, every brush stroke is unique

The image is the first step, the first drawing for the creation of a byzantine icon on wood. The icon will be painted, with the traditional egg tempera - a mixture of powder pigments egg yolk and vinegar-  on a specially prepared (reinforced with  gesso) thin, arch shaped plywood panel measuring approx: 25x 35

The Details and background will be made with 22K Gold, the colors will be close to an original old russian Troitsa (but brighter)- The title would be written in Greek 

(There is also a room for some "modification" on the figures of Abraham and Sarah)

Delivery schedule/Timing

After the order, it is panel preparation and then the painting phase.Both will last about two weeks. I ll send a picture update as soon as the painting is done-  The colours and the top coats (shellac and varnish) will also remain to "rest" for a week more- A total of t3-4 weeks
