Panagia Gorgona, a Theotokos inspired by Greece- A sweet folk representation of  the Holy Mother deriving from the tradition of the Greek islands, with the Birth -giver of God protecting the ships and sailors

The icon of Theotokos is painted in a repurposed chunck of wood (its relative size can be seen in the pics) with eggtempera with bold bright colours- Several layrs of organic and resin varnish have been applied to seal the colours toproduce an artifact that can last for generations
