It is the moment as in Luke (41:42) “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worriedand upset about many things,  but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”- Always like to thing of this verses and imagine this representation of the sisters of Lazarus completed with an imaginary Jesus Christ on the other end, sitting just opposite of them, right next to us, the viewers.

I love to paint these friends and disciples of Jesus Christ, sisters of Lazarus saints that are celebrated seperately and as part of the seven Holy Myrrh-bearers.

The saints are hand painted on an icon board (measuring 19cm x 25cm approx) -  Several layes of egg tempera were applied , and very bright colours are also used for the haloes and background. Finally shellac and wax varnish have sealed the colors to produce an original artifact that will last.

<3 Gift Wrapping: The icon is complemented with its own, also handmade, felt bag and some extras mini souvenirs from our shop- Very suitable for a very personal and unique gift.
