Share:

St Titus a disciple and companion of St Paul- ordained by the Apostle to be the first bishop of Crete. His byzantine icon is painted with the traditional egg tempera techique and a dark painted background like a fresco painting: St Titus, as we can see in the New testament, has displied  an array of excelent abilities and here is represented as a young man, ready to take on his life's work.

The icon measures 19x25 cm

Each of our icons is painted by hand according to the rules of the old byzantine art of hagiography or else holy iconography. In this ancient technique we are using the egg tempera on a plastered wooden panel we made our selves. After painting, the icon is varnished (with resin varnish)  to seal the colors and produce an artwork that will last.

Additionally the icon comes tenderly protected in its individual bag, together with its instructions how to care for it, a little sachet of herbs from our garden in Crete -and our custom icon favors - Ready to be given as a gift
