 The name St. John the Forerunner "Agios Ioannis o Prodromos"  is written with red egg tempera in medieval Greek characters on his left and right side. On this eggtempera piece copper gold were applied on the background, a material that will eventually acquire an antique patina.  Shellac and resin varnish have followed to seal the colours and produce an icon that will last.

 Size: 19x17 and is painted on a somehow thick rounded pine wood board
