Byzantine Icon Apostle St Jude, San Judas Tadeo patron saint of lost causes hadpainted eggtempera

 A mini icon painted in the byzantine style for St Jude Thaddeus. A Saint for causes lost, a saint of hope when all hope is gone- the Saint for the good and the bad alike; St Jude Thaddeus or San Judas- A Saint and an Apostle.

 Size: 8x12 cm

The name of the Saint -- Aghios Ioudas o Thadaios-- is written with white egg tempera on his right and left side with byzantine characters. Copper metal leaves (imitating gold) are added in the halo and in the border. Shellac and resin varnish are added on top to seal the colours and produce an icon that will last.
